British Spectrum Auctions Expert Joins Copenhagen Economics

April 13, 2015

Copenhagen Economics is delighted to welcome Mr Simon Edkins. Simon is an experienced profile on the international spectrum auction scene, and the appointment indicates Copenhagen Economics’ ambition to develop Auctions as a global area of focus.

“Simon has a deep insight in the bidder’s mind-set which will further improve our ability to assist and support our clients in the bidding process. He knows the industry, and has extensive international experience. By getting him on board, we will not only increase our auction capacity, but also significantly strengthen our position on the global market for spectrum auction support” says Henrik B. Okholm, Partner in Copenhagen Economics.

Simon joins Copenhagen Economics from a position as Senior Manager in the Spectrum Strategy and Economic Analysis team at Orange Group in the UK. He has more than five years’ experience with spectrum auctions from private sector bidders, and has worked on 3G and 4G auctions in UK, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Romania, and Slovakia. Simon has experience with general spectrum management issues as well as all types of spectrum auction support, including spectrum valuation, bid strategy development, and auction software programming.

At Copenhagen Economics, Simon will join the Auctions service team, which has recently supported bidders and regulators in a range of spectrum auctions in Europe, North America and Asia. Furthermore, the team has framework contracts for spectrum auction design with the telecom regulators in the UK (Ofcom), Norway (PTS) and Sweden (PTS).
