Copenhagen Economics were proud sponsors of the Competition Law Central & Eastern Europe virtual conference on 15 June.
At the conference, our experts, Managing Economist Dr Norbert Maier and Managing Economist & Business Manager Mindaugas Cerpickis, gave a standalone presentation on Merger Control from an Economists’ perspective.
More specifically, they discussed the geographic market definition and argued that even for cases investigated by national authorities, the relevant geographic market can be wider. For instance, this is the case if following a price increase in the home market, products move from neighbouring countries into the home country.
Moreover, they also discussed sustainability in a competition law context and presented multiple ways to quantify it for competitive assessment.
