In 2016, economic analysis have played a pivotal role in a number of competition law cases in Sweden. In some instances, the Courts have concluded that the economic evidence presented by the Swedish Competition Authority (SCA) has been insufficient, in particular with regard to market definition. Several mergers have been withdrawn after SCA presented their economic analysis.
