GCR 2018: Current economics focus reaches its maximum in Norway

The taste for advanced economics analysis by the Norwegian Competition Authority (NCA) grows as its recently appointed director general, Lars Sørgard, enters his second year in office. It has been a busy year for the NCA, with several interventions in markets such as ferry transports, restaurants, forestry, and telecoms, and most lawyers agree that the current economics focus may have reached its maximum in 2017.

Regarding the overall performance of the NCA, lawyers are both positive and critical. While NCA is willing to engage in dialogue about case handling, resources are sometimes limited.
