Leading experts gather in Washington DC to discuss the future for spectrum

April 13, 2015

12-13 November, the annual Americas Spectrum Management Conference is held in Washington DC; the meeting place of the year for spectrum stakeholders.

This year, some of the most pertinent topics for discussion are:

  • Spectrum Issues and Priorities Ahead of WRC-15
  • Incentive Auctions: Overcoming the key policy and technology challenges
  • The future of terrestrial broadcasting
  • New and Innovative Satellite Technologies
  • Spectrum licenses – is there a need to rethink length and geographical aspects of license awards?

Two of our experts on spectrum auctions, Simon Edkins and Bruno Basalisco, are attending the conference.

Senior Economist, Simon Edkins will participate in the panel debate ‘The future of terrestrial broadcasting: Reverse auctions and beyond’.

Simon will, among other things, give his expert opinion about what is being done to ensure that broadcasters are aware of the rules and processes that will govern the reverse auctions, and how it can be ensured that those taking part are fully prepared.

Other speakers include Mignon Clyburn, Commissioner at FCC, Chris Pearson, President at 4G Americas and Charla Rath, Vice President – Wireless Policy Development at Verizon Wireless.
