Energy efficient renovation of buildings pays off. Our comprehensive analysis of the Danish housing market shows that homes with better energy efficiency ratings are sold at higher prices compared to similar houses with lower ratings.
The results are based on extensive econometric studies, including 365,000 house sales observations as well as an innovative experimental approach using behavioral economic tools.
Yesterday, Sigurd Næss-Schmidt presented the results at a conference hosted by the Danish Energy Agency on how to implement efficient energy renovations.
