In the context of a call for additional powers for national postal sector regulators to promote competition in the postal sector, we were asked to investigate whether additional EU-level regulation of mail and parcels markets is justified or not.

Our analysis indicates that there is no need to, and benefit from, extending the EU-wide postal regulation beyond what is already in place.
