In our recent study on decarbonisation of the Nordics, we assess to which extent electrification of the wider economy, e-fuels, CCS and integration of the Nordic power markets, can provide the necessary emission reductions for reaching the Nordic countries’ national decarbonisation targets. Moreover, we propose a set of political initiatives to help deliver on these targets.

The proposed policy initiatives have three main components:

• Establish a credible carbon pricing framework
• Targeted support for promising technologies
• Integration of power markets and better regulation models for TSOs/DSOs
