Serafino Abate joins Copenhagen Economics

Copenhagen Economics is happy and proud to announce the hiring of Serafino Abate as a Senior Associate in our Stockholm office, covering competition and regulation with a focus on TMT and digital markets.

Serafino has more than 15 years of international experience, working in telecom and digital markets as an economist and public policy specialist. He brings to our team industry expertise and experience in competition policy from both the public and private sector, and will work alongside our business unit Market to help our clients successfully meet the regulatory and policy challenges they face in a fast changing business and consumer environment.

Serafino has spent seven years with the UK regulator Ofcom, leading market enquiries and policy projects, followed by a few years of public policy experience in Brussels at ETNO and CERRE. More recently, Serafino was in charge of competition economics and policy at the GSMA, the global association of the mobile industry, and has been advising on regulatory issues for the Mobile Ecosystem Forum.

Serafino holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Bristol and a degree in Industrial Organisation from the University of Florence.
