Tomorrow, the leader of our Finance service, Sigurd Næss-Schmidt, speaks at the Swedish Bankers’ Association’s tax conference 2016.

The theme of the conference is taxing the financial sector – what is the purpose, and what makes sense?  The background for the conference is not the least a proposal by the Government to study the effects of the VAT exemption for financial services and present policy options for possible new taxes of financial services in Sweden.

Sigurd will present new results from two ongoing studies and participate in a panel discussion on particular taxes for the finansial sector.

Other speakers include Professor Peter Englund, Stockholm School of Economics, Pia Michelsen, European Commission, and Gunnar Hökmark, MEP, European Parliament.
