Copenhagen Economics has hired Carsten Smidt, an acknowledged Danish competition expert, to head our competition department in Denmark.

Carsten Smidt has 13 years’ of experience from the Danish competition authorities. His unique understanding of the economic aspects in competition cases will be key when advising our competition clients in Denmark and abroad.

Hence, the appointment of Carsten Smidt also marks a focus on growing the competition service:

Today, Copenhagen Economics employ 19 specialised competition experts who work across our offices in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Brussels.

Carsten Smidt joins Copenhagen Economics as Director 1 September 2016. He leaves a position as Deputy Director General with the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority.
