The Handbook of Competition Economics 2015: Economic analysis in Finnish competition cases is slowly taking off

April 13, 2015

The new version of the acknowledged Handbook of Competition Economics is out, and two of our competition experts, Claus Kastberg Nielsen and David Nordström, have contributed with their expertise, composing the chapter regarding Finland.

They particularly point out the significant role of economic analysis in damages cases, particularly following the Asphalt Cartel. Finnish competition lawyers look forward to see how the courts will handle this new economic evidence. Also, the Finnish Consumer and Competition Authority’s use of diversion ratios and other economic tools in competition cases seem now to be taking off, particularly in merger cases.
