Two of our Swedish competition experts, Karl Lundvall and Martin Sutinen, have contributed to the new version of the acknowledged Handbook of Competition Economics, composing the chapter regarding Sweden.
They emphasize that the Swedish Competition Authority (SCA) is increasing the use and prominence of economics in merger cases and abuse of dominance investigations. Competition Lawyers consider the SCA to be very active and several new cases have been brought to court during the past year. The SCA is also improving its transparency by making its reasoning and prioritization on economic and legal matters more clear through increasing use of longer and better motivated decisions not to investigate cases further.
