The Danish newspaper Børsen recently interviewed our Senior Economist and Trade expert Erik Dahlberg about the Brexit agreement.
In the EU, one can trust the foundational principles and decades-long process of interpreting what free movement is and should be. The new EU-UK agreement – and indeed the EU-UK economic and political relationship – will have to live its own life from here on.
However, it is clear that the ambitions for goods and services trade are much more modest than those of the EU Single Market.
“There is no doubt that there will be a deterioration of the trading conditions”, says Erik Dahlberg.
