Digitalisation and globalisation are shaping the world as we know it, and recently, the future of money has been put on the table. Digital currencies have become everyday topics, and a multitude of central banks actively looking into launching their own versions of them. But what does this innovation in the monetary system imply for our economy?
In our recent article, we look into a potential digital Euro and the immediate as well as potential long term effects, this may bring. We also consider the motivation for launching digital versions of existing currencies, and argue that it may be about more than just ensuring digital privacy and security.
