Copenhagen Economics was commission by the Swedish authority Tillväxtanalys to host a Workshop on green innovation at the conference “Pathways to sustainable Growth” on October 18 2012. In our background document we raise the following issues
• How can market instruments such as resource pricing be combined with a long term strategy to promote innovation and technology development? Why do we need both resource pricing and public support for R&D? • What is the division of labour between the national, regional and global for policy action? • Which actions can developed countries take to efficiently promote the green growth agenda in emerging economies? • How to design a policy strategy that promotes a long term strategy both at the local and global level. How does it look like and how can it be implemented in practice?
These issues were then discussed with representatives from public authorities as well as representatives from the civil society.
