SENIOR ECONOMIST (PROJECT MANAGER) WITH A KEEN INTEREST IN E-COMMERCE DELIVERY AND TRADITIONAL POSTAL MARKETS

Application deadline: 16/12/2022

Copenhagen Economics is an expert-driven consulting company built on a deep knowledge of applied economics. Founded in 2000, we are today one of the leading economics firms in Europe, currently employing more than 100 staff operating from our offices in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, and Brussels.

Our Postal & Delivery team is at the heart of Copenhagen Economics’ growth. We pride ourselves as being one of the global thought leaders within the fields of competition and regulatory economics in the e-commerce, postal, and delivery markets, providing strategic support to private and public sector clients worldwide. We help our clients with strategic advice on regulatory design and pricing, economic expert support in competition and state aid cases, as well as with economic impact assessments. Our clients include delivery operators such as Deutsche Post, PostNL, PostNord, and UPS, e-commerce players such as Amazon, as well as national and European regulators and policymakers.

As our team is growing, we are looking for a senior economist, passionate about project management, to join our international team of experts and to support our private and public clients in e-commerce, postal, and delivery markets across Europe and beyond with sound economic advice. Prior consultancy experience and sector experience is highly valued, but not a must. You will work from one of our offices in Brussels, Copenhagen, Helsinki, or Stockholm. The start date is flexible.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

Working at Copenhagen Economics means collaborating with the best and brightest economists in Europe. Teamwork is a fundamental part of how we operate, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with your colleagues to further develop your economics toolbox and analytical skills. You will work on a broad variety of international cases handled by our Postal & Delivery team. You will lead a team of junior colleagues across all stages of a project ranging from data collection to ultimately communicating results to clients.

As a member of our Postal & Delivery practice, you will join our Market business unit where we are united by our shared passion for competition economics and providing top-tier service to our clients in relation to investigations before European competition authorities, court proceedings, regulatory challenges, and commercial decisions.

You will take on an exciting and challenging position in an international, flexible, friendly, and fast-paced environment. You will assume extensive responsibilities from the outset and get the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Working as part of a team when dealing with clients, we make sure to recognise individual contributions and celebrate shared successes.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

You possess personal drive, a perceptive business sense, and integrity. You take pride in delivering high-quality advice to our clients by agreed deadlines and budgets. You have a special interest in economic questions arising in e-commerce, parcel delivery, and traditional postal markets. Prior consulting experience is highly valued, but not a must. Alternatively, you might have led economic studies working for or within the logistics sector, regulatory authority, or other institution. At least a bachelor’s degree in economics is required for this position.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • Project management experience
  • A natural curiosity to learn about a variety of industries and open to working on different types of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a high level of English proficiency. Working knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
