Talented Economists with an interest in consulting (entry-level position)

Application deadline: 22/05/2022

We are looking for talented economists with an interest in consulting – who have recently completed or will soon complete their master’s degree in economics (or similar) with a particular interest in microeconomics and/or quantitative analysis. You will be working from one of our offices in Brussels, Copenhagen, Helsinki or Stockholm.

The start date is flexible but should be around the beginning of 2023.

WHO ARE WE?

Copenhagen Economics is an economic consultancy comprised of a diverse mix of highly skilled economists working together to deliver hard facts and clear stories. We develop economic analysis to support public and private clients in relation to competition cases, policy debates, and impact assessments. Our work is project-based and always tailored to the specific needs of the client.

Copenhagen Economics is one of the leading economics firms in Europe and has for the past 15 years consistently been listed by the Global Competition Review (GCR) as one of the Top 20 economic consultancies in the world.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

We are looking for Analysts (our entry-level position) for our Market business unit where we provide support to clients in a variety of different services: Competition, Dispute Support, TMT & Digital, Postal & Delivery and Tender & Auction Support. What unites us is our shared passion for applied microeconomics and industrial organisation.

You will work on a broad range of tasks within projects, including data collection, theoretical analysis, quantitative analysis, drafting reports and communicating results to clients. Teamwork is a fundamental part of how we operate, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with and learn from experienced colleagues to further develop your economic toolbox and consulting skills. You will assume important responsibilities from the outset and get the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.

Typical projects could include assessing the extent to which a proposed merger is likely to harm consumers, calculating the over-charge due to a cartel agreement, exploring the consumer benefits and harms associated with a digital platform business model, analysing how a postal operator should set its prices, or designing an auction to allocate a natural resource. You do not need to have specific experience in these areas to apply – but they should pique your professional curiosity, and you should want to learn how to apply economic theory and methods to these areas (and others).

Our work environment is international, trustful, and fast-paced. We take great pride in delivering outstanding work but also in having fun in and outside of the office. You can visit our Instagram to get a feel for the work culture. https://www.instagram.com/copenhageneconomics/
