Flash Glucose Monitoring is a new and superior way for people with diabetes to monitor their blood glucose level, which is already available to people with type I diabetes in Norway. In contrast, the most common way for people with type II to monitor their blood glucose level is the so-called finger pricking method.
Academic research suggests that the risk of complications, such as hypoglycaemia, is reduced when using Flash Glucose Monitoring. The lower risk reduces people with diabetes’ need for healthcare services, which has a positive impact on the public sector’s budgets.
