The aviation industry’s socio-economic impact on Denmark

More than 30 million passengers travel through the Danish airports each year. This activity creates substantial value for the Danish society and supports a large number of jobs.

Copenhagen Economics has analysed the economic value of air transport for Denmark in a future scenario of increased capacity as well as a future scenario involving a network rationalisation by the home network carrier, SAS. Furthermore, we analyse the economic value of the tendency towards more international traffic from the smaller Danish airports in Jutland.
